Fall break started with a trip to DC to visit Reema--Leilah came as well from NY, and we lived a weekend of luxury, which included good food, Daniel Day Lewis in period costume, and a few steamy hours at the Ritz spa. Then rented a car and drove down to Harrisonburg, VA to see Sian at James Madison University. Had a nice visit with her and Mom White, before heading to Staunton, VA for the Blackfriars Conference. Sian joined me for the last day of the conference, and then we went back to Harrisonburg, where she gave me a tour of the university, showed me her new office, and took me to a great Thai restaurant. We ended the day with Colin Firth and his side-burns. Am now waiting at Detroit Airport for my flight home, happily stealing free wireless from the very (or not so very) exclusive Delta Sky Club lounge.
